ACT Senior Retake will be Tuesday, October 3! No registration required. Bring your chromebook!

All 10th graders will take the PreACT on October 3. No registration required.

The PSAT/NMSQT will be given to any 10th or 11th grader on October 24. Sign up with Mrs. Bradley in the Counseling Office. Cost is $18.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation: Must have a 3.0 GPA to apply.  Deadline to apply is October 2, 2023.

TCA High School Essay Contest: Open to all TN High School students ages 16-18. Essay must be typed, double-spaced and limited to 600 words. Deadline is December 22, 2023. Essay prompt: How have you or your community been shaped by concrete? Submit Essay here

Elks National Foundation Scholarship – For students pursuing a 4 year degree. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need.  Deadline to apply is November 13.

AFSA Scholarship Contest – $2000. Deadline is September 30.

Courage to Grow – Must have 2.5 GPA. Deadline is September 30.

Do Something – $2000. Deadline is September 30.

Jumpstart College Scholarship – $1000.  Deadline is October 17.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation – Must have 3.5 GPA. Deadline to apply is November 16.

Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship – $1000. Deadline to apply is December 1.

G2 Overachievers Student Grants – $15,000. Deadline to apply is December 15.

Burger King Foundation – must have any part time job.  Deadline is December 15.

ACT College Readiness Benchmarks

English: 18     Math: 22     Reading: 22     Science: 23

TN Ready Graduate

Our goal at CHS is to have every senior become a TN Ready Graduate!  Here are the ways to achieve this milestone:

  • Get an ACT Composite score of a 21 or higher
  • Complete 4 Early Post Secondary Opportunities (EPSOs) such as: a) dual enrollment, b) dual credit, c) AP classes
  • Complete at least 2 EPSOs and earn one industry certification  such as: a) machining, b) mechatronics, c) CNA, d) EMS, e) cosmetology, f) welding, g) Microsoft
  • Complete at least 2 EPSOs and get a 31 or higher on the ASVAB (military career assessment)


Drivers Permit Form Information

Sign-ups and Pick-ups: Students (not parents) are required to sign up for a Drivers Permit or Drivers Reinstatement Form.  Students can sign up before school, in between classes, during lunch and after school.  Students can return in 2 days to pick up the form during the same allotted times.  The permit form expires in 30 days.   

Eligibility: Students must have no more than 10 consecutive unexcused absences or 15 total unexcused absences in a single semester.
