WELDING
WELDING I (Formerly Welding Core; ACCTC) – Single Block; One Semester; One Credit; 9th – 10th Grades; Prerequisites and/or Requirements: None. Welding I is a course in which students will learn basic skills and knowledge related to cutting and welding applications. Course content includes safe practices, career research, leadership development, and basic arc welding and thermal cutting skills. Combined with Welding II and III, the student should be prepared for Entry Level Welder certification as defined by American Welding Society QC10. This course is a great addition to students interested in Welding, Construction, or Machining. Dual Enrollment opportunity offered for FreshmenSeniors with TCAT.
WELDING II (Formerly Welding I; ACCTC) – Double Block; One Semester; Two Credits; 10th -12th Grades; Prerequisites: Welding I (Formerly Welding Core/Principles of Manufacturing) OR Machining I. Students will learn basic skills and knowledge related to cutting and welding applications. Welding and cutting skills will be developed in the context of a series of projects. Combined with Welding III, students should be prepared for Entry Level Welding certification as defined by the American Welding Society (AWS) QC10. Dual Enrollment opportunity offered for Freshmen-Seniors with TCAT.
WELDING III (Formerly Welding II; ACCTC) - Double Block; One Semester; Two Credits; Designed for 11 th - 12th Grades; Prerequisites and/or Requirements: Welding I (Welding Core) and Welding II. Algebra I is highly recommended. Students will learn advanced techniques and skills related to cutting and welding applications, particularly as they relate to stainless steel and aluminum. Welding and cutting skills will be developed in the context of a series of projects. Following the completion of this course, the student should be prepared for Entry Level Welding certification as defined by the American Welding Society QC10.
